Today at the NTU Summer Show, I looked at work from numerous designers and have featured some photographs of the work that caught my eye. In particular I noticed I was drawn to a lot of the surface design work, which could potentially be brought into my own design work in some capacity, perhaps illustration?

I also really enjoyed looking at perhaps more unique techniques such as 3d work, in particular the stitching into perspex which I thought was really elegant and worked really well. Perhaps I need to explore more creative responses to briefs in the way in which they are presented, such as more physical and intriguing outcomes.

But perhaps the main focus that I found myself drawn to were the layout designs displayed within the Graphics exhibit, as I feel this is perhaps the area which I excel in the most. I particularly like the use of typography as image, as this is something I have explored in the past and would be keen to explore again. Furthermore, the manipulation of image to incorporate shapes holds a certain finesse and elegance that works really nicely within a publication setting, perhaps look into exploring this idea further?
