In Santorini I came across an exhibition by Apostl, who created some stunning bronze and crystal sculptures.

The two elements contrasted greatly alongside one another in a powerful aesthetic.

Apostl with an array of his 'sea collection', providing a height comparative for many of his pieces.

An image from his 'Sea collection', inspired by his admiration for the Sea, filled with octopuses, seahorses and mermaids.

A piece from his 'music collection', with the crystal representing 'the transparent flow of a soft meoldy' and the bronze providing a nod to the 'power of music'.

Although I was unable to take photos in his gallery, I distinctly remember the portraits that he had created, that used 3D objects within its canvas adding an element of depth and activity amongst its subjects.
